- Students are to submit their work each week. The Mentor will designate the day and time the student’s work is due. As a parent, you need to know when this is.
- Students submit each Week regardless of how much work is completed, make sure the work is sent in at the designated time.
- Advise Your child's Mentor if your student is involved in some activity or there is a legitimate reason why the student will not be able to turn their work in on time, you will need to advise your Mentor BEFORE the turn in date.
- It is up to the Mentor to accept late work. The Mentor has the option of reviewing your late work or letting it roll over to he next week.
- If there is a special situation involving the student or the student’s family, the Mentor needs to be advised as soon as possible. Our staff are willing and able to make accommodations for special situations as long as they are notified. We have no problems dealing with special situations.
- At the end of the day, parents of successful students review the child's work to ensure one lesson in each course has been completed. As the parent you are not checking the accuracy of the answers, that is our job, you are simply making sure all work has been completed. If a student has simply 'thrown the work together', the mentor will identify this problem and the student will be responsible for all corrections the following week.
- Encourage your child to 'teach you' what they have learned each day. This regularly reinforces the learning and allows the student to pinpoint any areas that may require additional review and study time.
- Before the student submits their work the parent should:
- Review the student’s work for the week.
- Review the student’s log to insure all entries are up to date.
- Have the student submit his/her work and send an email copy to you.
- Have the student continue to work while the submitted work is being reviewed.
- Have the student save the reviewed work when it is returned and follow student protocol on work that has been done in the interim.
